Hello Doily

Love this stamp! My mother told me this pattern was called a pineapple and I can remember her crocheting doilies just like it.

I stamped the image onto Whisper White cardstock with Versamark and then embossed with Clear EP. I used two images from the Delicate Doilies stamp set to stamp the small doilies in Wisteria Wonder. Once this was completed I sponged the edges, again using Wisteria Wonder, and then mounted on Elegant Eggplant. I added the Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon and mounted the whole thing on a Wisteria Wonder cardstock base.

I sometimes wish I could sit in on a Stampin' Up! planning meeting when they are throwing names around for their new ink colors. I really think it could be fun. I'd love to be there and join in, but I'm sure I would probably get into trouble with some of the names I might throw out there. LOL!

Delicate Doilies

The Delicate Doilies and Hello Doily stamps remind me of the beautiful doilies that my mother used to crochet. She always used a really fine thread to make the doilies and the hook on the crochet hook was almost invisible. I honestly don't know how she did all that extremely fine work. I had a few of the small accent pieces she made, but when she died my cousin gave me a tablecloth mother had crocheted for her. Jeannie, I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to have it and how much I appreciate you giving it to me.

Mother has been gone for a little over 9 years now and I miss her. We had our difficulties over the years but I loved her and I'll miss her until we meet again. For those of you who still have your mothers, appreciate them and show them you love them because they will be gone way too soon.

We made this card in class earlier this month at the Jacksonville Beach Senior Center and the ladies each made it their own by coloring the doilies in different manners. I chose Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Basic Black for the colors on this Delicate Doilies birthday card. The doilies were colored with Stampin' Write Markers and I used the new Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon. Although you can't see them in the photo, the doilies each have a rhinestone in the center.

Don't you just love the new Petite Pairs stamp set from the 2011/12 Idea Book & Catalog? I think this set really filled a void in the Stampin' Up! sentiment area. I just wish there was a small "get well" pair as well. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Love & Care

Another card share today using the Love & Care level 2 hostess set. This time I used the aster type single blossom. The image was stamped into Daffodil Delight and then rock 'n' rolled into Pumpkin Pie. Once that step was completed I went over the center of the flower with a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker. The single leaf was stamped with Pear Pizzazz and scattered among the flowers. A double-loop bow completes the look. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Love & Care

The level 2 hostess set called Love & Care in the current Summer Mini catalog is a very versatile set especially if you love floral images (and I do). There are so many things you can do with these flowers.

The flower here was colored with Stampin' Write Markers in Rose Red and a little Bravo Burgundy was added for depth. The stem is Always Artichoke. Cardstock is Always Artichoke and Rose Red with a dash of Paisley Petals Designer Paper. I added three dark pink rhinestones from my stash and TA DA! the card is done.

Fabulous Florets Yet Again

See, I told you I love it. The greenery stamp was used again, but I changed it up with a different flower and, if it matters, it's turned on its side. I even changed the colors to Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade.

Fabulous Florets

Love, love, love the Fabulous Florets stamp set. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have used it. I'm sure my class attendees are thoroughly sick of it, or will be soon.

I embossed the greenery with Wild Wasabi embossing powder onto Basic Black cardstock and then embossed the flower with White embossing powder onto Daffodil Delight, cut it out and popped it onto the greenery. The Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder was used on Marina Mist cardstock and then it's all topped off with a Daffodil Delight satin bow.

Inspired by Nature 2

Today I'm using the other side of the Inspired by Nature double-mounted stamp set. I colored the flowers with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Early Espresso with Stampin' Write Markers and then misted the stamp with water. I really wanted a watercolor type image but I used Whisper White cardstock to stamp my image onto and am not quite happy with the result. I think I will use watercolor paper on my next attempt and see how that turns out. Cardstock is Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso and the ribbon is Daffodil Delight 3/8" taffeta.

Inspired by Nature

I recently returned from a visit to my hometown of Pittsburgh, was driving through West Virginia, and fell in love with all the wildflowers that were scattered along the highway. I know they were planted there on purpose to beautify the medians, but it looked like they were just growing there naturally. Such a wildly colorful display!

Today's card was inspired by those wildflowers and was done with the Inspired by Nature double-mounted stamp set. The sentiment is from a retired level 2 hostess set called Something to Celebrate. Little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die are fluttering throughout the field of wildflowers. I used Tempting Turquoise and Concord Crush cardstock as the base for my garden.

Graduation Owl

I recently made a card similar to this for a dear friend's daughter to celebrate her high school graduation. The only difference was that her owl had a rolled diploma attached to the wing. Congratulations Gracie!

Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to create cute cards like this using their punches. I used the Owl Builder punch and the wings from the Bird Builder punch to create my graduation owl. I drew a sample pattern and then hand cut the graduation cap from that pattern. I hope you enjoy my feathery friend too.

Happy Birthday With a Cherry on Top

This card was so easy to create using the Cupcake Builder and Petite Pennants Builder punches from Stampin' Up! I recently made this card at my senior class and all the ladies loved it.

I used one of the images from the Pennant Parade for my ice cream cone and punched it out with the Petite Pennant Builder punch. The ice cream scoops were made using the Cupcake Builder punch. The sentiment is from A Word For You. I was so happy to see that this stamp set was continued over into the new 2011/2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

On The Grow Mason Jar

I can just picture this mason jar sitting on my grandma's kitchen table with freshly cut flowers from her garden.

This image is from On The Grow in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog from which you can purchase until August 31, 2011.

I stamped the image onto watercolor paper and colored it using Melon Mambo & Garden Green reinkers and an Aqua Painter. I used a very light touch of Bashful Blue on the mason jar and then covered it with Crystal Effects. I was very happy when I saw that my photo actually shows the glassiness (is that a word?) LOL! that I was looking for.

The papers used are Melon Mambo, Garden Green, Whisper White and Melon Mambo from the Patterns Designer Series Brights Paper Stack.

Fabulous Florets Greenery

I was inspired to make this card by one on another artist's blog, but can't locate their website again to give them credit. I'll have to be better about keeping that information.

I used the greenery from the Fabulous Florets stamp set. The greenery was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and then rock 'n' rolled in Soft Suede. I did this twice on my background and then stamped another on a scrap piece of white and cut it out and mounted onto the center of the other two images with dimensionals. I also used the leaf image from Fabulous Florets and stamped in Versamark onto the Pear Pizzazz card to add a little interest to the plain background. The Scallop Edge Border punch was used to punch the Soft Suede cardstock and then a Pear Pizzazz strip was added using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.

Watercolored Flower Garden

I love this Flower Garden embossing folder. I did this one on watercolor paper and colored it with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive reinkers using an Aqua Painter. The centers of the flowers were done with a black gel pen I had in my stash. The gel pen gives the centers a shiny black embossing powder look. The watercolored image is mounted on Old Olive cardstock and then mounted onto a Rich Razzleberry card. I can't wait to try this technique in other colors.

I recently went to a weekend scrapbooking crop with several friends. Just like me, one of these friends was working on cards. She was making a terrific quilted card and I asked her to share the technique with me. I used Stampin' Up! Woodland Walk DP, Crumb Cake cardstock and the bonsai tree from the Plant Hope stamp set. I honestly don't know where the last month and a half have gone. It seems the older I get the faster it goes. My husband had surgery again at the beginning of February so that explains part of my absence but not all of it. I guess you can put the other part down to plain old blog neglect and I apologize for that. I hope you don't hold it against me.

I am sharing a card today that was done with the Build a Blossom set from Stampin' Up!. I used Pretty in Pink as the flower base and stamped the petals in Rose Red. I absolutely love this set because it makes such pretty flowers so easily. Don't forget this set is in the current mini catalog and will only be available until April 30th so if you want it you better place your order soon.

Nature Walk

Nature Walk is another of the stamp sets from the current Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.

I colored directly onto the flower stamp using Rose Red and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers and then stamped the image three times without reinking. The embossed background was done using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. These embossing folders make a beautiful background so easy.

Build A Blossom

Today's share is one of the cards I did at my monthly class held at Cha Cha's Mexican Restaurant. I just love the Stampin' Up! Build A Blossom stamp set from the current Occasions Mini Catalog. The ladies at class all agreed with me and every single person there purchased the stamp set and punch.

This stamp set has a coordinating punch that enables you to make this beautiful flower very easily. Stampin' Up! has really thought of everything with this release. Can't you just imagine all the beautiful cards you can create with this?

It's Not Another Holiday Card

Since I have been making nothing but Thanksgiving and Christmas cards at my classes lately, I thought I would take a break today and post a card using the Just Believe stamp set. The cardstock colors are Whisper White, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. I used Stampin' Write markers and colored directly onto the stamp, huffed to reactive the ink and then stamped. The circular stamp was stamped using the rock 'n' roll technique.

I'm happy with today's card not just because it isn't a holiday card, but because I like the end result. Hope you like it too.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the holiday with your families and are looking forward to a yummy meal. My family is going to my nephew's for dinner and the only thing that my nephew requested is my famous pumpkin pie. I baked 8 pies last night and am just about to sit down to watch the Macy parade on television. After the parade I plan to get to work on making a couple of vegetable dishes to go along with the smoked turkey and ham my nephew is making. I can't wait because I'm making myself hungry already.

Come to Bethlehem

Night of Navy is such a rich color and was the perfect choice for the Come to Bethlehem stamp set. I embossed the wisemen image in gold and kept the card very simple using only Night of Navy and Brushed Gold Cardstock. I added the Night of Navy satin ribbon to soften the card somewhat and am pleased with the results.

Not Quite Sure About This One

This card is giving me absolute fits. I'm not happy with the card and wanted to post it to get some honest feedback. I typed up my post, attempted to post it and then accidentally deleted it. I started the post again and then somehow went ahead and posted it before it was finished. So......I'm going to try this again.

I used the Tags Til Christmas stamp set, Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler cardstock and Deck the Halls Designer Paper. I punched out small circles, adhered them on the triangular line and then covered them in Crystal Effects. I also added Crystal Effects to the pinecone.

I think the thing I don't like about the card is the lack of interest on the Always Artichoke card base. It needs some texture or a little somethin' somethin', but I'm not sure what. Any input would be appreciated because I'm always up for some constructive criticism.

Just Believe in Sunshine

Wow! Can't you just feel the warmth coming from this beautiful sunshine card? I made the sunbeams by sponging in Daffodil Delight ink. The Old Olive greenery and Concord Crush flowers were colored with the Stampin' Write Markers directly to rubber and then stamped after huffing to reactivate the ink. To add a little interest to my background paper I used one of the Texturz Plates, brayered on Old Olive ink and ran it through my Big Shot. This gave me a tone on tone woodlike look.

We made this card at my class last month at Cha Cha's Mexican Restaurant and it was well received by all the attendees. My next class at Cha Cha's will be on Saturday, November 27. For You From Me

This card is for my husband who is recovering from surgery. I’m sitting in a hotel in Miami just waiting for morning to get here so I can get back to the hospital to see him. It’s so hard being in a strange city, having a loved one in the hospital around the corner and being stuck in a hotel room when all you really want to do is sit beside them. If all goes well, we will be able to head for home sometime on Saturday or Sunday. I can’t wait.

I had this image stamped and brought it with me to complete, so I can’t even tell you what the set name is, but I’m sure most of you Stampin’ Up! fans recognize it.

Perfect Punches for Christmas

I love how this card turned out. I wanted to use the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper and it lent itself so beautifully to this simple design. The cardstock colors are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The circular greeting is from Perfect Punches and was stamped twice, once in Old Olive and once in Cherry Cobbler. The Old Olive center portion was punched out and layered on top of the Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle. Old Olive Satin Ribbon completes the look on this simple Christmas card.

French Foliage

French Foliage is such a great set. The leaf images are really pretty and lend themselves beautifully to the rock 'n' roll technique which is what I did on this card. I used Pear Pizazz, Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight on my leaves. The only leaf that wasn't rock 'n' rolled is the one under the greeting. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases set which has 30 separate words that you can mix and match to create the perfect greeting or sentiment for your project.

Holly Leaf Lines

Are you sick of the Christmas cards yet? I promise that my next post won't be Christmas if you just bear with me today.

This card uses the holly image from Leaf Lines and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used Cherry Cobbler (isn't that a surprise!), Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla cardstock and the yummy Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding that can be found on page 21 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. The Deck the Halls Designer Paper can also be found in the Holiday Mini on page 18.

Frosty the Snowman

I know this image is retired, but I couldn't help but use him. Snowmen are my favorite images and this Frosty (in my opinion) is one of the best Stampin' Up! sets and it just wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't make at least one card with him.

I used Baja Breeze and Whisper White cardstock and the Designer Paper is from the Candy Cane Christmas pack. The Winter Wonderland sentiment is from Bright Christmas that is on page 22 of the current Holiday Mini Catalog.

Oops, I just looked again at the picture and realize that I didn't add my Dazzling Diamonds glitter yet. I need to correct that, but you can all just imagine him sparkling in the snow. I apologize for using a retired image and hope that you don't hold it against me.

Old Time Christmas

Doesn't this sweet little girl from Greeting Card Kids remind you of the old time images that used to be on Christmas cards? I know I'm probably giving away my age by saying that, but it really does make me remember way back when things were so much different. I even remember wearing wool winter leggings as a kid and how much I hated them especially since I always got in trouble for coming home from school with my leggings soaking wet from jumping in snow piles. My mother was never happy about that and wasn't shy about letting me know it.

I again used my new found Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen to color the image. The background is Deck the Halls Designer Paper and I added the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding. The seam binding has a beautiful sheen to it and I plan to stock up since we don't have any Satin or Taffeta ribbon available in Cherry Cobbler and Cherry Cobbler has turned out to be one of my favorite colors.

Greeting Card Kids is a terrific set if you love to color because it has four images of old time children, or should I say retro kids. In addition to the Christmas girl there are images for Valentine's Day, Halloween and School Kids. Summer Goodness

I made this card for one of my senior classes over the summer and just realized that I never posted it. It was a pretty simple card, but they all loved it. We used the Lattice Square Embossing Folder to make the cone and the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch to make the ice cream scoops. The cardstock colors are Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede & Early Espresso. We used matching Blushing Bride ribbon for an accept and topped the whole thing off with a red rhinestone cherry. I didn't take a picture of the inside, but we used "Happy Birthday with a Cherry on Top" from the A Word For You stamp set. I just knew I had to make an ice cream cone as soon as I saw that verse.

Good Cheer Victorian Santa

Last month I was involved in a Stampin' Up! event with 7 other demos. Each demo designed a Christmas card and every attendee went from table to table to make their cards. Each demo used a different stamp set and you all know that everyone has their own special style so the attendees really got a variety of Christmas cards to add to their stash. From the favorable responses we got I know we will be doing this again.

Today's share is the card I designed for that event. I used Good Cheer and the sentiment from Bells & Boughs. The cardstock is Real Red, Soft Suede and Whisper White. I also used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Large Oval Punch, Extra-Large Scallop Oval Punch, a Sizzix Texturz Plate and Chunky red glitter.

The only thing I wish I would have done differently is color the image with Watercolor Pencils rather than Watercolor Wonder Crayons. The crayons are still not available and some of the event attendees were unhappy about that because they really enjoyed using them and wanted to buy them. Needless to say, I have a list of those people and plan to contact them as soon as Stampin' Up! lets us know they are available again.

Bells & Boughs

It's getting to be that time of year again. What time? Glad you asked.

It's time to get a start on your Christmas cards so today I'm sharing one I did last weekend. I used the Bells & Boughs stamp set for the image and Christmas Greetings for the sentiment.

I started out using Versamark and the large swirl from Baroque Motif to stamp my card base but wasn't happy with how it looked so I then stamped again with Blushing Bride ink and was much happier with the results.

The main image was colored with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens. Believe it or not, this was the first time I used the Watercolor Pencils. I've had the the pencils for the longest time but just never got around to playing with them. What a mistake that was. I love them!

Apple Blossoms by Stampin' Up!

I'm back and sharing a card I did at my senior classes a few weeks ago. I used the Apple Blossom Hostess Level 2 set and several of the new Stampin' Up! colors: Marina Mist, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizazz. I was so sorry when some of my favorite colors retired, but am so loving these new ones. I really think the change makes the Stampin' Up! color palette much fresher and up to date and apparently my customers do too.

Friends Never Fade

Todays card share uses one of the flowers from the Friends Never Fade stamp set. The sentiment is from Fresh Cuts.

I finally broke open the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack and absolutely love it. It makes me so happy that I can now have a polka dot paper in every one of the Stampin' Up colors. There are stripes too and many more fabulous tone-on-tone choices. I'm a happy girl and plan on ordering one of these paper stacks in every collection. I'm my own best customer. LOL!

This is another one of the cards we made in my class yesterday at Cha Cha's. The attendees all had a good time making their cards and we had a delicious lunch. I plan on making this a monthly event and hope you can all come and make cards with us too.

Vintage Vogue Collage

I wanted to make a collage type card and reached for Vintage Vogue. For the background of my collage I wanted a very light pattern so I used Crumb Cake ink, stamped off once and then stamped onto the Whisper White cardstock. Although the picture is much too light, the actual card background turned out exactly the way I wanted it. I then stamped the flower in Melon Mambo and the leaf in Old Olive. Hovering over the card is the All A Flutter butterfly colored with an Aqua Painter and ink refills. The ribbon is the retired Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain and I'm really glad I stocked up on this.

Class Teaser

Hi Everyone

I wanted to share a sneak peak at one of the cards we will be making during the card class at Cha Cha's this coming Saturday, July 24 at 10 AM.

This card uses the stamp sets Friends Never Fade and one of the sentiments from Tiny Tags. I've used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper along with the yummy new cardstock colors Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight and threw in a little Pumpkin Pie too. Instead of a ribbon I used linen thread on this card, which is something I rarely do, and I think I like it. I'll have to try this thread more often.

Fifth Avenue Floral

A quick and easy card share today. I used the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, Marina Mist and Melon Mambo cardstock. I honestly can't remember where the sentiment came from. That's what I get for having too many stamp sets and not writing down the details when I am making the cards.

I teach stamping classes on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Beach Senior Center. The ladies there have been trying to talk me into doing an extra class this month since there are five Thursdays in the month of July. Sorry ladies, but there will be no extra class day this month, but if you behave yourselves (yes, I know it is going to be difficult) we will be making this card as a bonus at our class today.

I changed the cardstock colors from her black and white to Very Vanilla and Early Espresso and used the new 1/8" Early Espresso ribbon. Other than that the idea is all Lee. Thanks Lee!!!!

Roses For You

I used Stampin' Write Markers in Melon Mambo and Old Olive to color in my roses. These flowers remind me of the wild roses that bloomed in the backyard of my childhood home. I used the reverse side of the Melon Mambo polka dot ribbon because I didn't think these roses set the right tone for polka dots. That's just my opinion, but I'm stickin' to it. LOL!

Fun Folds

This card uses all retired product, but I was so happy with how it turned out that I wanted to share. I used a vanilla cardstock base with Nouveau Chic DP, Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow (I'm going to really miss this color) and Basic Gray cardstock. The sentiment is from Well Scripted that was available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The flower and leaves are made with the Little Leaves Sizzlit and the Daisies #2 Sizzix Bigz Die and the center is done with a Build-a-Brad.

Beautiful Hydrangea

Wow, I can't believe it has been over a month since I last posted. The month of June was so busy. I spent the better part of the month preparing for a huge Stampin' Up event that I was a part of. We held a benefit for the Pace School for Girls here in Jacksonville. The benefit was held at the Sandollar Restaurant which sits on the St. Johns River near the ferry landing. The event was a huge success with over $650 raised. We are using these funds to purchase Stampin' Up product and create a stamping corner at the school.

Today's card uses the new Hostess Level I set called Because I Care. I just love this image. It brings back memories of the beautiful hydrangeas that bloomed all summer in my grandma's front yard. I used the new Marina Mist cardstock and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I colored my image using Marina Mist & Old Olive inks and an Aqua Painter.

Black Magic Revisited

Another attempt at the Black Magic technique using the Watercolor Trio from the Summer Mini Catalog.

I'm going to have to find another way to take my photographs because this card is much more vivid in person. For some reason I can't get my colors to show their true value in photos.

The small dots on the image are tiny rhinestones that are very sparly in person--not so much in the photo. If anyone has some suggestions out there please get in touch and share your experiences.

Watercolor Trio Again

This is definitely my favorite stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. I have made several cards recently using the various stamps in this terrific set so plan on seeing it frequently.

I used Melon Mambo and Soft Suede in both ink and cardstock. The DP is Melon Mambo. I used the Scallop Corner Punch and the Scallop Trim Border Punch, and really love how the double mat for the stamped image turned out. I have to admit that it did take me several tries to get the mats the way I wanted them. Put the paper in crooked--trash that mat. Cut the cardstock the wrong size--trash that one too. Ah, finally, sweet success.

Flower Fancy Two-Step Stamping

I have had the Flower Fancy set for a while now but just got around to inking it up recently. This stamp set is one of several two-step stamp sets available in the 2009/2010 Idea Book & Catalog, and they are a lot of fun to use. I stamped the outline in black and then used Stampin' Write markers in Old Olive and Rose Red to ink up the fill in stamp. The stamp-a-ma-jig is the perfect tool to use when aligning these two-step stamps, but in this case I eyeballed it as best I could. I added one of the embossed butterflies from the Sizzix Beautiful Wings Embossing Folder to complete my card (mainly because I had a small green smudge that I wanted to cover up). Don't tell any one.

Lovely as a Tree

Let's all say our prays that Lovely as a Tree still remains in the new Stampin' Up catalog. This stamp set contains the most wonderfully beautiful images. Here I have used the single tall tree stamped in Old Olive. Add a little of the retired Sweet Pea DP, some Old Olive and Pretty in Pink cardstock and you have a quick, simple card that can be used for most any occasion.

Vintage Vogue & Butterflies

Today's card uses the vine image from Stampin' Up's Vintage Vogue. I used versamark and clear embossing powder on the top half of the card and a piece of polka dotted Designer Paper on the bottom. The butterflies were made with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. Don't you just love this Sizzix embosslit? You can add these cute little butterflies to almost any card you create. They add just the right touch of whimsy.

It's That Old Black Magic

Black Magic Technique that is. I used the Watercolor Trio flower image to do this technique. For those of you that don't know how to do this, it is very simple.

Choose a solid image stamp and then stamp with white ink onto Basic Black cardstock. Make sure your ink is completely dry and then color over the white ink with either colored pencils, watercolor pencils or chalks. I used the Stampin' Up watercolor pencils to color my image. I completed my card with a black and white ribbon from my stash. All in all I'm quite pleased with how this card turned out. I hope you enjoy it and also hope you try this simple technique.

I know the Sweet Pea DP is retired but I love it so much that I have to use it. I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set for the flower image and stamped with Pumpkin Pie. I stamped once with a fully loaded stamp and then stamped again without reinking. This simple little technique creates a great look without any effort. Why not try it for yourself!

This card was one we made this past Thursday at the Beaches Senior Center and all the ladies were surprised with how simple it was to make. Wings of Friendship

Another avian card today, but this card is using the pretty little bird image from the Stampin' Up Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 set. I used Taken With Teal and Pumpkin Pie in both ink and cardstock. The piece of designer paper is from the Sweet Pea paper pack available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I can't seem to stop using the papers out of this pack. I keep going back to them again and again. Do you think Stampin' Up put something in the adhesive holding this pad together? It's addictive!

I popped up the wing as well as the larger flower on Stampin' Dimensionals. The flower has a clear rhinestone center and the bird has a tiny black rhinestone for his eye. Looks really pretty in person. Wish the picture was better. Oh well, I guess it will have to do.

Blooming Irises

I love, love, love this card. Could be because I love purple and green together, could be because I love irises, could be all these things combined.

I used Copic markers to color in the iris image and then cut out the completed image with Nestabilities. I combined Certainly Celery and Lavender Lace cardstock with some patterned paper from Kaiser. The card was then topped off with a satin ribbon and dew drops.

This card just makes me happy. The irises should be blooming soon in the backyard of my childhood home. Sweet memories!

Floating Flowers

Another pretty flower image to share. The flowers appear to be floating across the card. I used Stampin' Up Markers to color the flowers. The whole card is done in Taken With Teal and Whisper White from the cardstock to the designer paper. The DP is from the Welcome Neighbor paper pad that was available free (with a qualifying purchase) in the Sale-a-Bration catalog this year. I used the Scalloped Border punch that was also available for free in the Sale-a-Bration catalog. But there is good news because this border punch will be available for purchase in the future.

This card was made yesterday at the Beach Senior Center and all the ladies loved it.

The three layer flower is made with the Scalloped Circle punch. Each Pretty in Pink circle was sponged with Pixie Pink ink on the edges, crumpled and then reformed into the flower you see here. I again used the Little Leaves die from Sizzix to complete the flowery display. Cardstock colors are Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana and Whisper White (embossed with a Cuddlebug folder).

Happy Moments Birthday

Here's another birthday card I made using the Stampin' Up Happy Moments Sale-a-Bration set. This little cake is so pretty with all the flower decorations.

Get out your sunglasses because I used all bright colors on this one. Pink Passion, Only Orange & Green Galore cardstock were the colors that screamed out to me. The scrap of DP is the retired Sweet Always. I used Crystal Effects to glue rhinestones into the center of each flower because I've got to have my bling. The Scallop Edge punch adds a little extra interest.

Vintage Vogue Flowering Vine

Last week we had our team downline meeting and we made swaps using any current product. I used the flower stamps from Vintage Vogue, stamped in Cameo Coral and cut them out. I also used Certainly Celery leaves punched from the Little Leaves Sizzix die. Gotta love that die! The cardstock is Cameo Coral and the Designer Paper is Certainly Celery. I added rhinestones to the center of each flower to add some zing. The only difference between this card (my original) and my swap is the bow in the upper right corner. I actually thought the card looked better without it. What do you think?

Paper Carnation

Here is my version of the Scallop Circle punch flower. I used some old Apricot Appeal DP from my stash to make my flower. I punched out 8 scalloped circles, placed a small hole in the center of each, crushed each in my hands to break down the fibers in the paper and then straightened them back out and inserted a brad to hold them together. I then straightened the petals back out and shaped them into the flower image you see here. This was a very simple process and makes, I think, a beautiful 3D flower.

I completed the card with Apricot Appeal cardstock, Old Olive leaves punched with the Stampin' Up Little Leaves Sizzix and Whisper White cardstock embossed with a Cuddlebug folder. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Birthday Bliss

I'm really happy with the way this card turned out. I had wanted to use this retired Sweet Always Designer Paper and decided to make another birthday card which I never to seem to have enough of. The cardstock colors used were Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose.

Don't you just love this sentiment from Birthday Bliss? I think I'm partial to it because The Wizard of Oz (Lions & Tigers & Bears Oh My!) is one of my all time favorite movies. I can remember watching it on television as a child. It was an event that happened only once a year when one of the networks would set aside a whole evening to show this movie. My brother, sister and I would sit spellbound during the show and then my poor parents would spend the next several weeks listening to our recreation of the movie's most memorable scenes, songs included. Oh the memories!

A quick share of an even quicker card. I used a piece of the Sweet Pea DP from Stampin' Up and paired it with Chocolate Chip, Mellow Moss and Rose Red cardstock. I added a flower and leaves from the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt to spice it up a little and topped it all off with some rhinestone bling.

Simple, quick and sparkly. Who could ask for more?

Three Tier Cake Take Two

As promised I wanted to post the revised birthday cake card that was posted here at the end of February. I added some rhinestone embellishments to give the cake a little more character. I also tried to get the silver foil paper to show up a little better than the previous post. It looks a little shinier to me but I'm sure a better photographer could improve it. Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by one posted by Lee Conrey. I used the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch 117191 and the Solid Stripes stamp 115707 from Stampin' Up available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Sorry to say that the flowers were done with another Stampin' Up punch which is no longer available.

Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink are the cardstock colors used.

I also used pearls from the Pretties Kit to complete my flowers and I really like the look. I hope you enjoy it too!

Yummy Bunny

I just love, love, love this Stampin' Up Chocolate Bunny. Reminds me of all those Easters in the past when the ears were always the first thing to go from my Easter Basket. Sure wish the Easter Bunny would visit me this year with a yummy bunny, but I guess I will have to settle for my paper creation instead.

I stamped the bunny with versamark onto Close to Cocoa cardstock and then clear embossed and cut him out. I made the lavender lace and certainly celery plaid paper using the Stampin' Up Solid Stripe stamp. The Chocolate Bunny 116980 and Solid Stripe 115707 are both available in the Occasions Mini Catalog and will be available until April 30th.

I also used the Scallop Trim Corner 118870 from the Occasions Mini Catalog, and Scallop Trim Border 118402 from the Sale-a-Bration catalog (which you can earn as a free selection with a purchase of $50 in Stampin' Up product), Word Window punch 105090, Modern Label punch 116630 and Teeny Tiny Wishes 115370.

Flower For All Seasons

This watering can and cute little frog can be found on one of the stamps in A Flower For All Seasons by Stampin' Up. I'm again using the must-have Sweet Pea Paper Stack with Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke cardstock.

This is one of the cards that the ladies at the Beach Senior Center made at their last class and they loved it.

I wanted to share a card I made with no stamping. I used a Quickutz die to create my three tier cake with Stampin' Up cardstock colors Taken With Teal, Rose Red and So Saffron. The cake stand and caker topper, although they look black in this photo, are made with foiled silver cardstock. I still need to add some glitter and rhinestones to the cake, but couldn't wait to share the card because I love the way it looks with the Stampin' Up designer paper. Don't you just love the way the paper echoes the circles on the cake? The designer paper is another of the fabulous papers from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I really love the new Stampin' Up Sweet Pea Paper Stack. The striped background paper shown here is from that stack and I find myself constantly going to this stack before I start my projects. There are 48 sheets in this stack (2 each of 24 double sided designs). I used Stampin' Write Markers in Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip to color directly to the stamp and then stamped onto Whisper White cardstock. Trendy Trees

Today I am sharing a card made with Stampin' Up's Trendy Tree set. I sponged my background with Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke. The trees were colored with Stampin' Write Markers directly onto the stamp using Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip and then stamped on the sponged background.

Although I used Pumpkin Pie to color part of the tree, I used Apricot Appeal cardstock with Always Artichoke. I did this because when I applied glitter pen to the Pumpkin Pie leaves they lightened up considerably and no longer matched the Pumpkin Pie cardstock. You see, there is no such thing as a mistake in stamping...only another creative opportunity.

Medallion Birthday Greetings

Don't you just love this image! I chose the Medallion stamp to make this beautiful birthday card and it is so simple to do this when using the wonderful products from Stampin' Up.

I covered the stamp in Pretty in Pink ink and used a sponge dauber to add Pixie Pink ink to the edges and center and then stamped on Whisper White cardstock. I then reinked the center of the stamp with Pixie Pink and restamped and punched out the center, inserted a crystal brad and then added to the main image with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Another Valentine share with the Stampin' Up set Wandering Words. This is one of the sets that was available in the Holiday mini catalog at the end of last year. Don't you just love the way the the little hearts are fluttering their way out of the mailbox. I used my Stampin' Write Markers and colored directly onto my rubber stamp with Going Gray, Basic Gray, Real Red, Close to Cocoa and Always Artichoke. I love using this technique whenever I can because it brings such life to the solid images.

Sharing a simple Valentine card using the Stampin' Up clear mount set Vintage Vogue. This card uses only the leafy flourish from that set. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Grateful Greetings set that was available in last year's Holiday mini catalog. I'm hoping this greeting set is one of the lucky sets that makes it into the 2010/2011 Stampin' Up catalog. The colors are Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper.

This card was a huge hit in my class at the Jacksonville Beach Senior Center because it was so simple and easy to make.

Vintage Vogue Valentine

Today I am sharing a Valentine card that was inspired by one done by my Stampin' Up upline, Lee Conrey. You can see her original creation here.

The flower and border are from the new clear mount Stampin' Up Vintage Vogue set and the sentiment is also from a clear mount set called Well Scripted. These clear mount stamps are so easy to use. Placement is a snap using the acrylic blocks with the easy to grasp edges.

Stampin' Up has really listened to their customers with the release of these clear mounts and blocks.

I used my favorite color from the 2009/2010 In Colors, Rich Razzleberry and paired it with Black and White. I used a black satin ribbon from my stash, but can honestly say it doesn't stand up to the quality of Stampin' Up's new 5/8" satin ribbon.

Oh Nuts! It's not a Stampin' Up image but I thought it turned out pretty good. The inside of the card simply says "I forgot" which can be used for any occasion.

The images are from a company that specializes in three-step stamps to give the extra detail. The squirrel is stamped in three Stampin' Up colors--creamy caramel, close to cocoa and chocolate chip. Isn't he the cutest?

This is one of the cards I am planning to make with my senior group on November 19. The poinsettia image is from Stampin' Up Season of Joy and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used Real Red, Handsome Hunter and Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment was framed with the Word Window punch and the Modern Label punch. I so love the Petals-A-Plenty textured impressions folder--it gives such a rich look to the cardstock background. I finished off the card by adding yellow rhinestones (from my private stash) to the poinsettia centers.

Gift Tin

Just wanted to hop in here today and share my version of the ever popular gift tin. I made a 3D poinsettia using five petal flower punches, two large and one small. The leaves were made with a small oval punch and all petals and leaves were creased to make them more lifelike. Each individual flower was layered with stampin' dimensionals. Yellow paint was added to the center for stamens. Finished up with a 5/8" real red grosgrain ribbon. Love it!

Patterned Pines

This is another card for one of my senior classes in November. I used the beautiful trees from the Patterned Pines Level 1 Hostess set. The trees were colored with Always Artichoke and Real Red inks using Stampin' Spots. I love these little one inch cubes when I'm using more than one color on a stamped image. The smaller ink pad allows me more control on where the color goes. They are the happy medium between regular ink pads and the Stampin' Write Markers. I particularly like the Stampin' Spots for when I go to a stamping or scrapbooking event and don't want to take all my ink pads with me. I can carry all 48 spots with me in a very small container so I always have the color I want to use at my fingertips.

Back to the card--I used Always Artichoke for my card base and paired it with a Basic Grey Christmas Tree cardstock which matches beautifully. A little white grosgrain ribbon and some rhinestone stars atop the trees complete the look.

Christmas Snowman

I thought I would share a non Stampin' Up card with you today. Sometimes I just feel the urge to do a little coloring on some detailed images and my share today is a happy little snowman with his forest friends. I used Copic markers and Stickles for a sparkling glow.

Gifts of Christmas 3

This card was so simple to make. The main image was stamped with Versamark and then gold embossed in the debossed center of the Textured Impressions Petals-a-Plenty background. I first saw this debossing technique on Patty Bennett's blog and finally got around to trying it. So easy to do! I finished off the card with a small piece of Real Red grograin ribbon to match the Real Red cardstock. What do you think?

Gifts of Christmas 2

I have again used the Gifts of Christmas stamp set and this time chose the dove image. The image was embossed in gold and die cut with Nestabilities. Prior to removing the die I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink. I really like the way this Nestabilities set looks like an open book, in this case it would be the Bible.

I added a little bling with clear rhinestones in the center of the three flowers.

I really love the way this card turned out, and it was so simple to make.

I used the flower stamp from the Gifts of Christmas set and colored it with Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red and Handsome Hunter. The image and mat was die cut with Nestabilities and prior to removing the die I sponged in some Handsome Hunter to give the appearance of another mat. The background paper was found in my large stash of miscellaneous supplies. A whole 12 x 12 sheet of this paper really makes your eyes wonky when looking at it, but a small piece really went well with this image and managed to complete the look I wanted. Don't you just love this Stampin' Up flocked designer paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty pack? It give your cards such a luxurious look.

On this card I paired the paper with several stamps from the Berry Christmas set to create, what I think, is a beautiful combination of Real Red and Whisper White. Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Signs of Autumn

Here I go straying down that other company stamp path again. This time I have used one of the images and a sheet of designer paper from the Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit from Gina K. Designs. The card base is Stampin' Up Soft Suede and the image is mounted on Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke.

I was amazed at how well the paper from Gina K Designs blended in with the Stampin' Up colors. See, even when I stray into other companies I always come back to my favorite, Stampin' Up!

I wish you could all see this card up close and personal. It is much prettier in real life.

I used Delightful Decorations from the new Holiday Mini Catalog that began September 1. The card base is last year's In Color Riding Hood Red and the tree branch is a Sizzix die using Always Artichoke dotted with Crystal Stickles. The ornaments are stamped with Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red and a Memento Metallic ink that I borrowed from my sister.

Lovely As A Tree by Moonlight

If Stampin' Up ever tries to retire this set I think I will start a protest campaign. I know there are many demonstrators out there who feel the same way too.

The Lovely As A Tree set always makes the most beautiful cards. I sponged on Night of Navy ink over a 1 3/8" circle mask to create the moon. The snow portion of the card is covered with Crystal Stickles for a sparkling effect. Isn't this pretty? I remember northern skies looking like this and I think it will start snowing at any moment.

Once a month my Stampin' Up upline holds a team meeting during which we go over all things Stampin' Up and share our successes as well as struggles with our Stampin' Up businesses during the past month.

Each month one member is assigned the task of teaching a technique make-n-take. It was my turn during the month of August and I taught the Joseph's Coat technique as shown on this card. Joseph's Coat is done as follows:

1. Choose 3 colors of Stampin' Up inks. For this card I used Creamy Caramel, Pumpkin Pie and Always Artichoke. These colors are streaked onto a piece of Glossy White eventually covering the entire piece of paper, but trying not to muddy your colors.

2. After the base coat of colors is dry, stamp a solid image with Versamark and then clear emboss it. I used the leaves from Kind & Caring Thoughts.

3. After your embossing is cooled use a brayer to cover your color streaked Glossy White with a darker color. I used Chocolate Chip.

4. Allow the brayered color to dry and then use a soft cloth to buff off the color from the embossed areas. This will allow your base colors to peek through.

5. Complete your card as you wish.

Asian Artistry Again

I really do have other stamp sets, but seem to keep reaching for Asian Artistry. I guess you could say this is my favorite floral image right now.

I used Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal for my main colors. The Circle Scissor Plus was used to make the half circles from Certainly Celery Designer Paper and Black cardstock. I think this is a very pretty card and hope it is well received at my class on September 3rd at the Beaches Senior Center. Hope to see you there.

Arranged With Love

As you all know I'm a Stampin' Up associate, but also love many other companies and sometimes just have to stray.

Today's card is from Gina K Designs and is a set called Arranged With Love. I colored the image with Copic markers and mounted on Stampin' Up Pixie Pink and Green Galore. I love to color in the evening when I am watching TV so this image is perfect for that. Love it!

Fifth Avenue Floral

I absolutely love the way this card turned out. I used the small flower from the Stampin' Up Fifth Avenue Floral set. The image was stamped with Versamark on Shimmery White paper, embossed in White and then a Dusty Durango reinker was used with a waterbrush to color in the flowers. The flowers were all hand cut and attached with Stampin Dimensionals. The greenery was cut with the Big Shot using the Stampin' Up Little Leaves die. The card took a little extra time but I think it was well worth the effort and I hope that those taking my next class at Hobby Lobby think so too.

Asian Artistry 2

To say that I love this stamp set would be an understatement. I find myself reaching for it again and again because I think it makes the most beautiful cards. I embossed the image in gold this time and then colored with Stampin' Write Markers.

Although I love to color any image with anything from the SU Markers and SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons to pencils to Copic markers, I find that embossing your images makes the coloring much easier to stay in the lines. I find this especially true for those older folks with poor eyesight like me. I'm hoping that my seniors at the Beaches Senior Center find this true for them too because I plan to have them make this card in an upcoming class.

Wings of Friendship

Hello everyone and welcome back. This card is another one I have done in preparation for a future class at Hobby Lobby. I used the bird from the Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 stamp set. I used Stampin' Write Markers to color directly to the stamp and then stamped the image. The bird's wing and the solid flower were stamped on another sheet of Whisper White, cut out and then Stampin' Dimensionals were used to pop them up.

See, I can use something else besides Rich Razzleberry and today it is So Saffron. To make this birthday card I grabbed the giraffe from Animal Stories because it was sitting on my table.

I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the giraffe and then stamped on Whisper White. I used the cute animal print from the Tall Tales Designer Paper Pack and topped it off with Rose Red ribbon.

Asian Artistry & Rich Razzleberry Fusion

I know you are probably tired of seeing cards made with Rich Razzleberry, but I can't seem to help myself. Please forgive me.

I used the Asian Artistry image that I think resembles orchids, stamped with Versamark and embossed in gold. This photo doesn't show it very well but the plant is in an oval bowl that has been shaded with Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge dauber to give it more dimension and adhered to the card with Stampin' dimensionals. The image and sentiment are mounted onto Melon Mambo.

Circle Circus

I have been wanting to use the Circle Circus set so I put it together with Rich Razzleberry (my current favorite In Color). I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped various circles with Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry inks and finished it up with Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon. This is the best ribbon because you can use the plain side of the ribbon without worrying about the polka dots showing through. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and then punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch and mounted on three other 1 3/8" circles of Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.

This is another one of the cards that I will be doing at my August 8th class from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Hobby Lobby at the intersection of Beach Blvd. & San Pablo Rd. I hope you will stop in to take the class or just stop by to say hello.

CHA TRIP

Yesterday was unbelievable. My sister and I went to CHA in Orlando for the day and had the pleasure of doing it with 50 other women and 2 husbands (what were they thinking) on a bus trip. It was a very long day waking up at 4:30 AM and getting home at 9:00 PM. CHA wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but we did have a good time. Our two big complaints were that the make and take lines were horrendous and we were totally exhausted by the time we got home. Lots of goodies to choose from and I found several items I couldn't live without.

Fortunately I had a card waiting in the wings that I am able to show you today. This card uses the elephant from Stampin' Up's Animal Stories on Whisper White with Melon Mambo ink. This card was very easy to complete and I think it's a cute little card to welcome a new baby.

Hello everyone. See, I promised that I would try and be a more consistent blogger. I'm glad to see you came back for a visit

I CASE'd this card from Lee Conrey and changed it up a tiny bit. I used the Animal Stories stamp set for the main image and the grasses were made with the Autumn Days stamp set. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Chocolate Chip was used for the card base with Whisper White, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip for the layering of the stamped image which was stamped with Old Olive. The cute designer paper is called Tall Tales. I hope you like my version of Lee's card.
